Jungle tour Iquitos 4D & 3N
The Experience
Jungle tour Iquitos
The Loreto region with its regional capital Iquitos is located in the northeast of Peru. The region can only be reached by boat or plane. The city of Iquitos is also known as the largest city in the world (almost half a million inhabitants) that cannot be reached by road. Close to Iquitos are the national parks Pacaya-Samiria and Allpahuayo-Mishana. Several rivers flow through the region, the most famous of which is the Amazon.
Animals that you can find in the rainforest are different types of monkeys and birds, tapirs, jaguars, pumas, giant otters, caimans and ‘last but not least’ the pink freshwater dolphin. In the Peruvian rainforest the freshwater dolphin only lives in this area, so if you want to spot freshwater dolphin in Peru, you have to come to this region!
It is possible to extend the jungle tour Iquitos with a stay of one or more days in the city of Iquitos.
Heliconia Amazon Lodge
You will stay during the jungle tour Iquitos in the Heliconia Amazon Lodge. This jungle lodge is named after a tropical flower that grows in this area. The Heliconia Amazon Lodge is a beautiful accommodation located on the banks of the majestic Amazon River.
Please note: The travel description of the jungle tour Iquitos is an example of what staying in the jungle of Peru can look like. However, no rights can be derived from this.
